Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Heading Home

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! If you stayed up last night to watch the late night show called overtime in LA, you saw the Hawks pick up a point as Jeff Carter scored in overtime to put an end to the circus trip.
The Chicago Blackhawks leave LA with a 3-3-1 record on the road trip which has to be satisfactory for this trip especially without Jonathan Toews on the ice for the last two games after getting injured earlier on the trip.
One thing that is painfully obvious without Toews in the lineup is that the Chicago Blackhawks are horrific taking faceoffs.

The Chicago Blackhawks now head home still on top of the Central Division with a 4 point lead over the St. Louis Blues which is just fine by me at this time of the year.
The Hawks heading home with 3 points out of 4 without Toews has to be a huge confidence boost for the kids in the lineup. Getting home late from work during the third period, I liked the game that Ryan Hartman and Vincent Hinostroza played along with Nick Schmaltz. I really think if Joel Quenneville continues to give them quality ice time together there is a lot to look forward to the longer the season progresses.
The Chicago Blackhawks do need to figure out somethings or this first place ride won’t last long. Against teams with strong possession ability like the Kings, they have to be able to possess the puck more and create more chances. The Hawks only had 11 shots on goal through 2 periods last night which won’t cut it against the strongest teams in the NHL.
That being said they are playing decent hockey, and are in first place heading into the late stages of November which I didn’t expect when they traveled home on the circus trip. Here are some morning links to start your Sunday morning.
