Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Big Unknown

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks are off to a 3-3-1 start through 7 games, and the real question is the great unknown which is who are these Chicago Blackhawks?
The Chicago Blackhawks penalty kill will be what everyone talks about until the Blackhawks take to the ice on Friday night. Let’s be honest, the penalty kill is historically bad to start the season which makes every trip to the penalty box a painful 2 minutes for the Chicago Blackhawks faithful and most likely Joel Quenneville.
To make matter worse the Chicago Blackhawks veterans aren’t exactly stepping up. Patrick Kane has 8 points in 7 games, but the one player that struggled last season and was hoping to have a big bounce back season is Jonathan Toews, but he’s only picked up 2 points in the first 7 contests with both of them being assists.
The other alleged strength of the Chicago Blackhawks coming into the season was the defense, but let’s be honest they haven’t been as good as advertised. The defense was missing a Big fourth last season after Johnny Oduya departed to play with the Dallas Stars, but the addition of the former Blackhawks favorite Brian Campbell hasn’t had immediate returns that everyone expected.
Now the Chicago Blackhawks have three days off to work on things which has to include the penalty kill, but should also include some line juggling or setting of lines to get some things rolling on offense.
It’s only been 7 games into the season, but it already feels like a huge grind so far for the Blackhawks, so hopefully they can straighten things out this week with some much needed practice.
