John Scott, who hasn’t played in the NHL since he was the MVP of the All-Star Game, has been called up by the Montreal Canadiens, according to the team’s website.

Scott, 33, is a journeyman enforcer who made the All-Star Game on a fan vote and then was named MVP when he scored two goals. He last played in the NHL for the Coyotes on Dec. 31 and has played in 11 total games this season and 90 in his career. In January, he was traded to the Canadiens, who are now out of the playoff hunt and have only three games left in their season. He had been playing for Montreal’s AHL affiliate.

Scott has become an NHL folk hero since his unlikely All-Star scoring binge and his story is even being made into a movie with the script to be written by sports columnist Mitch Albom.
