Buffalo Sabres Continue To Play Like The Sabres, Lose 4-3 To Flyers In Shootout

Just when you think the Buffalo Sabres are going to surprise you . . . no.  It’s the same old garbage.

Buffalo Sabres fans – we’re next.  And not in a good way.

About a decade ago, it was Boston Red Sox fans who must have felt like the sports gods were against them . . . until a band of idiots came together and ended the Curse of the Bambino in the 2004 Fall Classic.

Then, it was the citizens of Cleveland who became the Most Suffering Fans in Sports . . . until LeBron James went God Mode and lead the Cavaliers past the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Which leads us to the long-suffering fans of Buffalo, who have had to endure four-straight Super Bowl Losses, the Brett Hull incident, and now . . . this.

That Tweet doesn’t even begin to tell you half of the story.  Take 2 goals by the rejuvenated Matt Moulson, add the Sabres chasing Michal Neuvirth out of net after taking a 3-0 lead, sprinkle in a touch of the Sabres still leading 3-1 with under 4 minutes left in regulation, mix in two late penalties that allowed the Philadelphia Flyers to tie the game, and then shake the entire ******* cocktail vigorously until we begin the shootout: that’s how the Sabres blew this game.

Word cannot describe how pissed off I am right now.  The Sabres created turnovers early, saw Tyler Ennis score his first goal after losing months of the 2015-16 season to a concussion, received an awesome start by Anders Nilsson in his first regular season game in net for Buffalo . . . and still found a way to gift-wrap 2 points for a Philly team that was getting booed off its own ice.

How do you like them apples, Sabres fans?

Twitter is on fire right now, as it should be: Buffalo Sabres fans, you deserve better than the last three games this team has given you.  Jack Eichel or not, professional athletes should not consistently hand away late leads like this team does.  Rage on!
