Buffalo Sabres Back In Familiar Territory - The Cellar - Following 4-0 Loss To Wild

The Buffalo Sabres will end the night tied with one other team for fewest wins in the NHL . . . .
I’m at a loss, Buffalo Sabres fans.
Two nights after being outshot on the road by the Philadelphia Flyers in a 4-3 shootout loss, the Sabres flipped the switch and outshot the Minnesota Wild 38-22 . . . and get shutout, 4-0.
And two nights after turning in what should have been a winning effort against the Flyers, Anders Nilsson once again got the start in net . . . and gave up the sort of weak, bad-angle goals that will make fans wish Robin Lehner a speedy recovery.
Seriously – have you ever seen a team make losing look so easy?
On opening night, it was a terrible effort by the defense that lead to a 4-1 ass-kicking courtesy of Montreal. The defense then combined with an incredibly soft goal allowed by Lehner to cough up three separate leads in Calgary, and then the offense decided to lose games in Vancouver (failure to score) and Philadelphia (playing too conservatively in third period).
Which brings us to tonight, which was pretty much a team effort. For the first time all season, the offense, defense and goaltending combined to lose – teamwork!
Ugh.
What a disappointing effort: you would have thought that a team that blew a 3-0 lead against a tired Flyers team would have come out breathing fire tonight, but no sir. And at some point, you can’t just say, “Well Jack Eichel and Evander Kane are injured.” Where is this team’s pride? More shots on goal was a plus, but not all shots are good shots, and the Buffalo Sabres apparently have no one who can finish playing right now.
