Blackhawks' Daley: 'I don't think I've ever been that scared before'

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Trevor Daley was able to breathe a sigh of relief on Thursday, just days removed from a scary incident that left him sprawled on the ice.
Daley was on the receiving end of a brutal hit to the head and neck area by forward Chris Thorburn during the second period of Sunday's 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. Daley's injury looked very severe as a stretcher was immediately brought to the ice at the United Center, but the veteran blue-liner told the team's website that he's ready to go.
Daley, who had neck surgery in 2013, was able to skate prior to Thursday's game versus the Nashville Predators. The Toronto native will sit out that contest, but is expected to return to action the following day against the Jets.
“I’ve been through a neck injury before so, I think, more scared than anything. Happy that the results came back good and (I'm ready to go) back out there. ... I don’t think I’ve ever been that scared before.”
