Young benched after 3 turnovers vs Steelers

Published Sep. 19, 2010 4:35 p.m. ET

Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher has benched Vince Young to start the fourth quarter after the quarterback's third turnover of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Young was sacked and stripped of the ball after Chris Johnson missed a block, and the quarterback was slammed awkwardly to the ground by Steelers linebacker James Harrison. Young walked off the field to the sideline to boos.

Collins, who started the first six games last season before being benched for Young, warmed up. He went on the field for Tennessee's first series of the fourth quarter with the Titans trailing 16-3 to loud cheers from the crowd.

The change didn't help. His series ended when Bryant McFadden intercepted Collins.
