Wilson's agent says no deadline on contract extension
SEATTLE (AP) The agent for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said in a radio interview that the sides have made progress in attempts to get a contract extension done, but there is no deadline for reaching an agreement.
Agent Mark Rodgers told 710ESPN Seattle on Thursday morning that he remains optimistic that Wilson will remain Seattle's quarterback for a long time. Wilson has one year remaining on his rookie contract, which will pay him $1.5 million, and the Seahawks could keep Wilson under control after next season by using the franchise tag.
Rodgers said he believes about ''95 percent'' of what's been reported about the negotiations thus far has been ''off point,'' and what Wilson is looking for is a deal that is fair and reasonable.
