What do the AFC Champion Broncos have that the Chiefs don't?

Nothing hurts quite like watching the Denver Broncos play in another Super Bowl, right Chiefs fans?

Peyton Manning and Co. just hoisted their second Lamar Hunt trophy in three seasons, building off the foundation of a fifth straight division title. In two weeks, they’ll have as many Super Bowl appearances (eight) as the rest of the division combined.

Something has to change. But to beat their current AFC West overlords, the Chiefs could stand to reshape their roster a bit like the Broncos'.

They should start by finding a second option at wide receiver. Manning has not one, but two game-breakers at his disposal on the edges. When one doesn’t make plays (more recently, Demaryius Thomas), Emmanuel Sanders comes through.

The Chiefs have their Thomas, but they don’t have a Sanders. They don’t have another receiver who’ll command coverage. And it was painfully evident when Jeremy Maclin (ankle) wasn’t his normal, dominant self vs. New England in the AFC Divisional Round.

Albert Wilson (35 catches, 451 yards) and rookie Chris Conley (17 catches, 199 yards) should resume regular reserve duties. K.C. might look to the draft (Think: Ohio State’s Michael Thomas, Pitt’s Tyler Boyd, or Notre Dame’s Will Fuller) in order to evolve their passing game and knock off the Broncos.
