WATCH: Seahawks' Rawls (209 yards) runs over 49ers in Beast Mode style

With Marshawn Lynch reduced to spectator status, the Seattle Seahawks still gave the San Francisco 49ers a taste of Beast Mode.

Rookie Thomas Rawls rushed for 209 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns while starting in place of Lynch, who was inactive for the contest due to an abdominal injury. Rawls also had three receptions for 46 yards, including a 31-yard score.

Pete Carroll repeatedly has compared Rawls' punishing running style to that of Lynch. Rawls flashed his best Beast Mode imitation with a 12-yard reception early in the first quarter Sunday, lowering his shoulder to bowl over 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock.

The 5-foot-9, 215-pound Rawls continued to pound away at San Francisco's defense, which was shredded for 122 yards by Lynch last month. His bruising 30-yard run set up a third-quarter field goal before he put the game out of reach, going untouched on the 31-yard TD reception early in the fourth quarter for a 29-13 lead.

Rawls already had a pair of 100-yard performances earlier in the season. He came off the bench after Lynch was injured just before halftime and put up 104 yards on 16 carries. Two weeks later, he rumbled for 169 yards and a touchdown in a loss at Cincinnati in his second career start.

An undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan, Rawls made such an impression on the Seahawks in training camp that the team decided to part ways with Robert Turbin and traded former second-round draft pick Christine Michael to Dallas.
