WATCH: Patriots get fumble recovery for TD in second straight game
The New England Patriots went the first 13 games of the season without scoring a single defensive touchdown despite being at the top of the league in sacks. Last week, they got their first score of the season thanks to Chandler Jones, and on Sunday, they got another against the New York Jets.
With 3:32 left in the third quarter and the Patriots trailing by 11, Jabaal Sheard got to Ryan Fitzpatrick for the strip sack, knocking the ball out of his hand. Jamie Collins scooped up the fumble and returned it 15 yards for the touchdown.
It was a pivotal play in the game as it cut the Jets' lead to four, but it wasn't enough to help New England get the win. They fell to the Jets 26-20 in overtime, their third loss of the season. It doesn't prevent them from from earning a No. 1 seed, but it prevented them from locking it up this week.
Ryan Fitzpatrick --> Stripped. Jamie Collins --> Touchdown. Just like that. #NEvsNYJ https://t.co/V95oUwPkAh
