Victor Cruz will not practice or play vs. Bengals this week
The New York Giants will head out to Cincinnati to practice with the Bengals this week in anticipation of their preseason opener this Friday. Although Victor Cruz has made incredible progress, the Giants will continue to take things slowly with. He will not practice against the Bengals and he will not play in the preseason game.
“I know I’m not going to do anything against Cincinnati throughout practice,” Cruz said, via Jordan Raanan of True Jersey. “I’ll just do the stuff that we do. They don’t want me to get overcompetitive and go out there and do something crazy.”
Cruz will still travel with the team to Cincinatti and take part in individual drills during the team's joint practices. The two teams will practice in pads on Tuesday and "uppers" on Wednesday. Although Cruz hasn't missed a practice so far in training camp, the Giants see no need to rush him into these high-intensity workouts just yet.
