UCLA to retire QB Troy Aikman's jersey Nov. 28

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) UCLA will retire the No. 8 jersey of former quarterback Troy Aikman during the Bruins' Nov. 28 game against Stanford.
The school made the announcement Saturday night during the Bruins' home opener.
Aikman will be the ninth player in UCLA history to have his number retired. The three-time Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys is one of three Bruins in both the Pro Football and College Football halls of fame.
Aikman spent just two seasons at UCLA in 1987-88 after transferring from Oklahoma. He went 20-4, becoming the first quarterback to lead the Bruins to consecutive 10-win seasons.
The Bruins were ranked No. 1 for two weeks and won the Cotton Bowl during his senior season. He passed for 5,298 yards and 41 touchdowns in his UCLA career.
