Tyreek Hill named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
The Kansas City Chiefs watched Tyreek Hill rack up another weekly award this Wednesday, taking home the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week hardware.
On Thursday night, the Chiefs beat the Oakland Raiders 21-13 in front of a national audience. For the second time in three weeks, a rookie stole the show under the lights.
After scoring three touchdowns against the Denver Broncos, HIll rallied for two more against Oakland, including a 36-yard grab and a 78-yard return. Due to the latter, Hill was rewarded with the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award. For his Denver performance, he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Let’s hope the man has some room on his mantle.
Congrats, Tyreek!

Frankly, Hill should be in the Pro Bowl. He has been the best punt returner in the league by a country mile, amassing 473 yards. The next-best? Tavon Austin with 334 yards. Hill is also the only return man in the league with touchdowns returns on both kickoffs and punts.
On top of all that, Hill is tied 64th in the league with 547 receiving yards. His six receiving scores ranks tied for 11th. Hill has been a smashing success in his rookie campaign, and has seemingly gotten better with each passing game.
