Tony Carter returns to crowded DB group in Denver

Denver's deep defensive backfield just got even deeper.

According to the Denver Post, cornerback Tony Carter signed his restricted free-agent tender and will be back in orange and blue for 2015.

He'll rejoin the Broncos DB group and reprise his role as an invaluable role player. Although he was listed as the team's fifth cornerback, he stepped in for the injured Chris Harris Jr. against the Indianapolis Colts in the 2014 season opener.

The seventh-year pro also plays a big role on special teams.
