Week 13 in the NFL had plenty of heart-stopping moments, and now it's time to salute the statistical standouts who made them happen. Featured this week are an MVP candidate, a rookie quarterback and Jacksonville's most productive receiver of the past decade.

Cam Newton, quarterback, Carolina Panthers

Newton's Panthers won a 41-38 shootout with Drew Brees' Saints. Newton completed 28 of his 41 pass attempts (68.3 percent) for 331 yards and five touchdowns; he also rushed 10 times for 49 yards, including a kneel-down to end the game. The fifth-year quarterback is starting to look unstoppable, as his game-winning touchdown toss to Jericho Cotchery with just over a minute left lifted the Panthers to 12-0 on the season.

Marcus Mariota, quarterback, Tennessee Titans

The Titans and Jaguars got into a shootout of their own. Mariota came through with some game-changing plays in Tennessee's 42-39 win, as the No. 2 overall pick continued to show plenty of promise in his first season. He threw 29 passes and completed 20 of them (69.0 percent) for 268 yards and three touchdowns. On top of that, Mariota carried the ball nine times for 112 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown.

Allen Robinson, wide receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars

Robinson caught 10 passes for 153 yards, including three red-zone touchdowns. That put him over 1,000 yards for the season, making him the first Jaguars wide receiver to reach the milestone since Jimmy Smith in 2005. With the loss, the Jaguars fell to 4-8 on the season, but the budding connection between Robinson and quarterback Blake Bortles -- both 2014 draft picks -- is certainly encouraging for the future.
