The Broncos’ first-round draft picks stepped in on the Broncos’ third play from scrimmage in the season opener against Jacksonville and rushed for one yard on his first official NFL snap — while starting quarterback Kyle Orton was split wide right.

Broncos coaches said Sunday that Tebow, who grew up in Jacksonville and starred at Florida, would be the No. 2 quarterback in Week 1 and indicated they had a package of plays designed for him.

Tebow completed 64 percent of his passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason. He also threw two interceptions.

Brady Quinn was among Denver's inactives. He was listed as the team's No. 3 quarterback.
