TE Martellus Bennett still absent from Chicago Bears OTAs

The Chicago Bears are still missing a major peg in the offense, as Martellus Bennett has continued his holdout into Week 2 of OTA workouts, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Bears head coach John Fox was short on answers when it came to the situation involving his tight end.
"I’ve said before this is voluntary, and it’s not going to change for the rest of this offseason," Fox told the Sun-Times. "You’ll have to ask him [why he's not participating]. I just know we’ve got a lot of guys out here working really hard to get better."
When asked about mandatory minicamp, Fox told the Sun-Times he can't predict whether Bennett will attend. He did make it clear, however, that Bennett's presence is preferable.
Bennett believes he outperformed the terms of his current contract with his 90-catch season in 2014. The deal in contention calls for Bennett to be paid about $5 million each of the next two seasons. He risks losing $72,000, according to the Sun-Times, if he skips minicamp in mid-June—the first mandatory workouts of the offseason.
