Steelers LB Timmons willing to renegotiate to stay in Pittsburgh

Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons doesn't want to leave Pittsburgh any time soon, and he's willing to put his money where his mouth is.
Timmons has two seasons left on the six-year, $50-million deal he signed in 2011, but the looming cap hits could necessitate a restructuring.
Coming off his first Pro Bowl season, Timmons is more than willing to oblige if the team approaches him about redoing his contract, which will count approximately $12.6 miillion and $11.8 million against Pittsburgh's cap over the next two years, respectively, according to Spotrac.com.
"I've been here for nine years, I've got a house here, I'd like to keep that house," Timmons told ESPN.com. "I've got a family here that loves it."
Timmons hasn't heard anything from the team yet about his contract, but he figures continued hard work will keep him in Pittsburgh.
"Week in and week out, you have to come with it," Timmons said. "This game is unforgiving. I love the competition. I feel I'm a great competitor."
