Steelers' Ladarius Green denies rumors swirling around him

Ladarius Green set the record straight Saturday regarding all the rumors swirling around the Pittsburgh Steelers tight end.

Green, on the physically unable to perform list, said he's only recovering from ankle surgery and not dealing with recurring headaches, as has been reported.

"I don't know what those reports are," Green told reporters. "I heard about it, but I didn't look at it. I'm still on PUP because of my ankle."

Green signed a four-year contract with the Steelers earlier ths year after posting 77 catches for 1,087 yards in four seasons with the Chargers. However he's been sidelined all year following ankle surgery. And while he has no timetable for his return, he also denied that he's thinking about retirement.

"I'm wondering who said this," Green said. "I'm only 26, so I don't think I'm going to retire anytime soon."

Teammate Le'Veon Bell, who made his own denials earlier this year when it was reported that he faced a suspension by the NFL, apologized for his actions Saturday, a day after his ban was reduced to three games.

Bell posted a video Friday owning up to his mistake and saying "I haven't smoked since December 2014." However, his arrest for marijuana possession came in August 2014, so after deleting the video, he decided to apologize again.

"I already apologized to my teammates, my coaches and Steeler Nation," Bell told reporters. "I'm sincerely sorry about everything I put everybody through. It's been frustrating and I own up to everything. It's all my fault and I can't blame nobody else for that."

Bell, who ran for 556 yards last year in limited action, will be eligible to return to the active roster Sept. 26 before the team's Week 4 home game against Kansas City.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
