Statistically, Bills' Tyrod Taylor is one of the best QBs in the NFL

When Tyrod Taylor earned the Bills' starting quarterback job in training camp, some questioned Rex Ryan's choice. Now 10 weeks into the season, those doubters have disappeared.

In the seven games Taylor has started, the Bills are 5-2, yet they're 0-2 without him. That alone shows that his talent is no fluke. He's emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the league this season, and there are numbers to back it up.

This season, Taylor leads all quarterbacks in completion percentage (70.5 percent). Now, some will say that he doesn't attempt downfield passes, but that's far from the truth. Taylor is fifth in yards per attempt (81.6).

Those numbers don't always translate to wins or success at the position, but passer rating typically does. Incredibly, Taylor has the third-best passer rating in the league, trailing just Tom Brady and Carson Palmer -- two MVP candidates.

Taylor isn't an MVP candidate right now and probably won't be at season's end, but it's a testament to just how great Taylor has played in his first year as a starter. His 11-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio is outstanding, and he's silenced critics saying he can't protect the football.

There's still a long way to go in 2015, but Taylor has been the furthest thing from Buffalo's problem this season.
