Source: Dolphins, Gase getting closer to coaching deal
The Miami Dolphins are working toward completing a deal to make Adam Gase their new head coach, a source told FOX Sports on Saturday and other media outlets also reported.
Gase, 37, currently Chicago's offensive coordinator, is expected to meet with Dolphins officials again on Saturday, following up on discussions with the front office and some players earlier in the week.
Gase worked in the past with Peyton Manning while on John Fox's staff in Denver and has been credited with Jay Cutler's improved play with the Bears.
He has also interviewed with the Eagles, Browns and Giants. His name was linked to head coaching vacancies last offseason as well.
The Dolphins have interviewed multiple candidates recently including former NFL head coaches Doug Marrone, Mike Smith and Mike Shanahan.
