Sign of the times: No Colts selected to the Pro Bowl

An Indianapolis Colts season that has sputtered to a 6-8 record thus far resulted in one more disappointment Tuesday, when the team was shut out in voting for the Pro Bowl for the first time since 1997.
A year after seven Colts were picked for the NFL's annual all-star game in Hawaii, none were selected this year.
As the Indianapolis Star notes, it's the first time since 1997 that no Colts were picked to play in the game. Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, who is tied for the league lead in tackles, and punter Pat McAfee, who is tied for third in the league in punting average, were among those overlooked despite strong seasons.
The Colts were one of three AFC South teams without a Pro Bowler, joining the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.
In all, six teams failed to have a player selected for the Jan. 31 game, including the Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints.
