Seattle Seahawks injury report: Week 9 Buffalo vs Seattle
Seattle Seahawks Injury Report: Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor was ruled out for week 9 today, making this his fourth missed game.
There are no surprises on this week’s Seahawks injury report. Thomas Rawls, Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Luke Willson, DeAndre Elliott are all out for Monday night’s game. The more interesting side to this week’s report is how long, or in this case how short, the timetable for the player’s return will be.
Rawls has been out with a broken fibula since week 2. Each week we get a little nuggets of info on his recovery. It is sounding like his return will be before the end of the month. It’s no secret the Seahawks run game is lacking this season. The one two punch of Rawls and Christine Michael could go a long way to bringing the run back to Seattle.
It seems Kam Chancellor’s groin pull is still plaguing him. In today’s press conference, head coach Pete Carroll said Kam will have to work his way back next week. Chancellor ran in practice, but it is still a wait and see situation. It seems there is a chance he could return in time for next week’s game in New England.
Both Luke Willson and Michael Bennett are recovering from knee surgery. Carroll said Bennett was at the facility today and is working hard to get back in that 2-3 week range that was initially given. Apparently Willson has been “campaigning” to get back, and will practice next week.
DeAndre Elliott, who has been fighting a hamstring injury, was back to running this week. There was a possibility he could play this week, but that would would have been unexpected. He should be ready to go next week.
Carroll mentioned that although tackle Bradley Sowell is listed as questionable for this week’s match up, he won’t be ready to play. We should look for his return next week also. George Fant will get his second straight start at LT on Monday.
Linebacker Mike Morgan was placed on IR the first week of October, however is way ahead of schedule in his recovery. Carroll is hoping he will be back with the team very soon.
