Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on both knees.
The team says the operation was performed by team physicians Ed Khalfayan and Mike McAdam at the Seattle Surgery Center on Thursday.
Tatupu missed several practices throughout the season due to his ailing knees, but they never forced him to miss a game. Tatupu started all 16 regular season games and both playoff games for the NFC West champions.
Tatupu finished the regular season with 88 tackles, tied for second on the team. He also had a sack, a pair of forced fumbles and one interception that was returned for a touchdown.
