Seahawks' Richard Sherman will not have elbow surgery, for now

Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman will not undergo elbow surgery, at least for now, FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo first reported Monday.

It was initially believed that Sherman would need Tommy John elbow surgery after suffering the injury during a collision with teammate Kam Chancellor in the NFC championship game.

Sherman played through the injury during the Seahawks' 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.

Sherman has been named first-team All-Pro the previous three seasons
