Saints' sack leader Galette says knee improving

Published Dec. 12, 2014 6:27 p.m. ET

METAIRIE, La. (AP) New Orleans Saints sack leader Junior Galette says his injured right knee is feeling better and that he considers his status as ''day-to-day.''

Galette, an outside linebacker who has seven sacks this season, left the Saints' 41-10 loss to Carolina last Sunday in the second quarter. He limped off the field without help, but did not return to the game and has not practiced since.

Galette, the only Saints player to miss practice Friday, was not wearing a brace or wrap over his knee as he spoke with media at his locker.

Starting left tackle Terron Armstead, who has been bothered by a sore neck for two weeks, has returned to practice on a limited basis and says he expects to play in Chicago on Monday night.
