Saints make final preseason cuts

The New Orleans Saints have trimmed 22 players from their active roster, with veteran kicker John Kasay and veteran receiver Greg Camarillo among those let go.
The Saints also have placed four players on injured reserve, including cornerback Marquis Johnson (left knee) and rookie receiver Nick Toon (left foot).
Travaris Cadet, an undrafted rookie running back out of Appalachian State, remains on the team, meaning the Saints have five running backs on the roster.
However, he demonstrated his versatility with a strong preseason in which he scored two receiving touchdowns and had some solid returns of punts and kicks.
Second-year receiver Joe Morgan, who was undrafted out of Walsh University in Ohio last year, also remains on the roster after making 15 catches for 182 yards and two TDs in the preseason, including a 53-yard score.
The decision to drop the 42-year-old Kasay means Garrett Hartley, a 2009-10 playoff star who spent last season on injured reserve with a right hip injury, will head into Week 1 of the regular season as the Saints' place kicker again.
Receiver Adrian Arrington, who did not play in the preseason because of a right knee injury, was kept on the active roster, as was veteran tight end Daniel Graham, who was picked up after preseason started.
The players waived by New Orleans include tight end Michael Higgins, center Matt Tennant, quarterback Sean Canfield, safety Jerico Nelson, cornerback Nick Hixson, receiver Andy Tanner and linebacker Lawrence Wilson.
Defensive end Will Smith has been placed on the suspended list because of his four-game punishment in the NFL's bounty investigation, while linebacker Ramon Humber was placed on the suspended list for his three-game punishment for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
New Orleans could bring back some of the younger players it has cut for the practice squad on Saturday if they've cleared waivers.
The Saints will decide whom to release when Smith comes back for Week 5. Humber had hamstring problems during the preseason, and it less clear how the Saints will handle the end of his suspension in Week 4.
