Ryan Fitzpatrick beats Jaguars again, makes NFL history in doing so
Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't have his best statistical game in Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but he still managed to make NFL history.
By beating the Jaguars for the Jets' fifth win of the season, Fitzpatrick became the first quarterback ever to start and win against the same opponent for five different teams. He's known as a journeyman quarterback in the NFL, playing for his sixth team, and it's easy to see why he gets that title.
Fitzpatrick completed 21-of-34 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns, and although those numbers aren't bad by any means, they're impressive seeing as he did it with essentially just one usable hand.
Fitzpatrick started and played the entire game with torn ligaments in his left thumb, and he'll likely do the same for the remainder of the season. His toughness could prove to be a big part of the Jets' success this season.
