Russell Wilson to start for Seattle despite knee sprain

Published Sep. 30, 2016 7:02 p.m. ET

RENTON, Wash. (AP) Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will start Sunday against the New York Jets despite a knee sprain.

Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Wilson made it through the week of practices with no setbacks.

Wilson missed the first snap of his career due to injury last weekend after getting pulled down by San Francisco's Eli Harold, spraining the MCL in Wilson's left knee.

It's the second injury Wilson has dealt with this season after spraining his right ankle in the opener against Miami. Carroll said Wilson had his ''best week since the first week when he tweaked his ankle.''

Tight end Jimmy Graham was listed as questionable but was expected to play. Graham sat out Thursday's practice due to back spasms.
