Russell Wilson to host Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards

Nickelodeon made the announcement Wednesday that Russell Wilson will host the second annual Kids' Choice Sports Awards.

The show will be held live Thursday July 16, from 8-9:30 pm EST (tape delayed on the West Coast) from Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

Last year, Michael Strahan hosted the show. Strahan is a veteran on television, while Wilson is much more of a rookie when it comes to hosting duties.

Wilson doesn't seem nervous at all though and in fact sounds real excited for the opportunity to get slimed. He told the Hollywood Reporter:

"What an honor to be the king of slime for one crazy night! I had so much fun at the show last summer that I can't wait to get back. What kid doesn't want to get slimed? Count me in on that. I'm just a big kid at heart, so let the fun begin. I promise you, we're going to have great fun."

Wilson seems like he is the type of guy that is good at everything he does, so expect him to put on quite a show.
