Report: Westbrook to work out for 'Skins

Another former Philadelphia Eagles star could join an NFC East rival.
One month after the Eagles traded long-time quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins, The Washington Post confirms that the former Philly running back Brian Westbrook will work out for the Redskins on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, The Post interviewed Westbrook's brother, Redskins cornerback Byron Westbrook, who confirmed an initial report regarding Westbrook's tryout at Redskins Park.
"I'm not part of that decision-making process," Byron said. "Obviously, he's my brother, and it would be great to have the chance to play with him, but I'll let him handle all of that."
If ex-Eagles running back became a Redskin, it would complete a stunning NFC East transformation with both long-time backfield starters McNabb and Westbrook joining division rivals in the same offseason.
Brian Westbrook is known best as an electric multi-purpose threat who has made the Pro Bowl and rushing for 1,000 yards twice in his eight-year career. Westbrook led the NFL in all-purpose yards in 2007 with 2,104 (including 90 catches for 771 yards), but he has been limited the past two years due to injury problems — and specifically concussion issues that has led to retirement questions.
The Eagles released Westbrook, who will turn 31 years old in September, on February 23 after finding no trade takers.
