Report: TE Martellus Bennett to attend Chicago Bears minicamp

Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett has ended his holdout and reported to the team's mandatory minicamp, according to Rich Campbell and Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.

Bennett skipped Chicago's technically voluntary organized team activities over a contract dispute. Although the productive tight end still is under contract for the next two seasons, Bennett believes his 90-catch, 900-yard campaign in 2014 far exceeded the terms of his current deal—four years, $20.4 million (signed in 2013).

Bennett has already lost $100,000 in workout bonuses, according to the Tribune, but he would have incurred a fine from the team by continuing his holdout into minicamp. The 2014 Pro Bowl selection is a welcomed addition to a developing offense, but Bennett may not be as happy in his return until he gets a raise.
