Per Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk, retired running back Marshawn Lynch is considering a return to the NFL.

The man known as Beast Mode, who adamantly stated he was “done” during an interview with Showtime, might not be done after all.

If the PFT report is true, Lynch is considering a comeback. To be specific, Florio says to “keep an eye out for Week 4 or Week 5” for an announcement.

The Seattle Seahawks still own Marshawn’s rights, but they would have to pay him $9M if he returns. With Thomas Rawls pegged to take over as the lead back, plus Christine Michael and C.J. Prosise in the mix, it’s no certainty that the Seahawks would want Lynch back.

He’s a talented player, no doubt, but he did deal with injuries nearly all of 2015. Maybe the time away from football, including missing the entire offseason, has Lynch feeling renewed and fresh.

In any event, if Seattle doesn’t want Lynch back and he does decide to return, they surely would try to trade for him, or eventually release him if no deal can be made.

So if that happens, the Oakland Raiders will definitely be listed as a team to watch. Aside from the obvious Oakland connection, which has linked Lynch and the Raiders for years, Oakland could use his services.

Latavius Murray has been good, but he also leaves a lot to be desired. Adding a player of Marshawn’s caliber could do a lot for the run game. It’s hard to say if Reggie McKenzie and co. would even be interested, but they’d have to at least consider it.
