Report: Green Bay Packers DT Letroy Guion trying to recover seized property in court

Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion has filed a motion in court to recover the property Starke (Fla.) Police Department seized during his February arrest, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The motion claims Guion's Eighth Amendment rights have been violated, since he has already paid the maximum penalty of $5,000.

After pulling Guion over for failure to maintain a single lane, the arresting officers found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, 357 grams of marijuana and $190,028.81 in cash in his vehicle. Guion's motion for judgment in a Bradford County (Fla.) court, according to ESPN, is to recover the money and 2015 Dodge Ram truck taken during his arrest.

Guion reached a plea deal in March and re-signed with the Packers to a one-year, $2.75 million shortly thereafter. The NFL has suspended Guion for the first three games of the 2015 season, ESPN reported on Thursday, but he is expected to appeal the decision.
