Report: Chicago Bears not interested in extending Forte, Jeffery right now

The Chicago Bears have not wavered from their stance in regards to Martellus Bennett's holdout. The team has not catered to his demands for a new contract, and they're unlikely to do so until they get him on the practice field and assess his ability.
That's the way things have gone under Chicago's new leadership. General manager Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox are both entering their first season with the Bears. They have used an iron-fisted approach when dealing with the contract issues of players they hardly know.
Now, adding to the Bennett drama, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole shares "insider buzz" that says the Bears are not ready to offer extensions to other offensive playmakers in running back Matt Forte and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Both players are in a contract year and must prove their value to the Bears before earning a new deal.
In addition to Forte's services as the team's leading rusher, the versatile running back was also the team's third-most productive receiver in terms of yards (808), following behind none other than Bennett (916) and Jefferey (1,038).
