The Carolina Panthers just can't seem to catch a break this offseason. After the team lost Kelvin Benjamin to a torn ACL, they received some brutal news on Saturday night.

According to a tweet from Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer, defensive end Frank Alexander will be out for the year after suffering a torn Achilles.

As Joseph Zucker of Bleacher Report reminds us, Alexander also missed a total of 14 games last season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

A brutal blow for Alexander and the Panthers. Here's to hoping for a quick recovery for Alexander.
