Report: Browns WR Josh Gordon denied reinstatement

The NFL denied reinstatement for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, reports USA Today's Tom Pelissero.

Gordon can reapply for reinstatement later this year.

Gordon, 26, is suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He was suspended for 10 games in 2014 and the entire 2015 season for multiple substance violations.

Gordon was reinstated on a conditional basis by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell last year and was suspended for the first four games of the 2016–17 season.

He was allowed to be with the team during training camp and participate in meetings, but he entered rehab facility in New Hampshire in September and was reportedly released after a 30–day stay.

Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards in 2013 and received first-team AP All-Pro honors that season. He has appeared in just five games since due to a variety of drug and alcohol suspensions and last was on an NFL field on Dec. 21, 2014.
