Report: Broncos' C.J. Anderson to miss time with bone bruise
Broncos running back C.J. Anderson will miss time with a bone bruise in his knee, NFL.com’s Mike Garofalo reports.
Anderson will reportedly be out “at least a few weeks” after injuring himself early in Monday night’s game against the Texans. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Anderson could potentially miss the rest of the season and will seek a second opinion on the injury.
Anderson returned from the injury to rush for 84 yards on 14 more carries in the game. Rookie Devontae Booker also contributed heavily in Denver’s win, rushing 17 times for 83 yards and a touchdown and will likely take over as the starter in Anderson’s absence.
The 25-year-old Anderson ran for 437 yards on 110 carries, totaling five touchdowns in the first seven games of the season.
The Broncos are 5–2 entering Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
