Ravens to stay on West Coast after facing Broncos, 49ers

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) The Baltimore Ravens will be staying out west during the regular season after playing in Denver and San Francisco.

The Ravens open the season on Sept. 13 in Denver and play at Oakland the following week.

Coach John Harbaugh says Thursday that instead of returning home after facing the Broncos, Baltimore will practice in the Bay area before taking on the Raiders.

Also, the Ravens will stay in Phoenix following their Oct. 18 game against the 49ers. Baltimore faces the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 26.

Harbaugh says the decision to stay out west twice ''came down to a gut decision'' after a discussion with the players, including quarterback Joe Flacco.

Flacco says, ''I feel good about it. I think it will be a good thing for us.''
