QB coach: Luck or RG3 could be No. 1

After watching both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III go through their paces at their respective pro day workouts Wednesday and Thursday, Indianapolis Colts quarterback coach Clyde Christensen said either player would make an exceptional No. 1 draft pick.

"I don't think you can go wrong either way," he told the Indianapolis Star after watching Luck at Stanford's pro day Thursday.

"You go back and forth and keep looking for something that you can put a little red mark, that they can't do this or can't do that, that maybe there's something [wrong] character-wise. And you can't find one on either kid."

Luck threw 48 passes for NFL scouts Thursday, including a 70-yard pass that hit a receiver in stride.

"That was a request from one of the scouts," Luck told the Star later. "He said, 'Throw a deep ball.' So I did."

With Luck the frontrunner to be selected by the Colts at No. 1 at next month's draft, Christensen came away from Thursday's workout impressed by his consistency.

"It looked just like his game film," he said. "It was just steady. It was just solid. It was fun to watch.

"I was impressed he came outside and it was probably the first workout where a guy throws into the wind, which probably reveals something about him. He just goes and plays football."
