Philadelphia Eagles dealing with significant injuries to multiple key players
Multiple important Eagles players could miss Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
The Philadelphia Eagles were beaten pretty bad against the Washington Redskins Sunday.
Literally.
As it turns out, several key Eagles players could miss this weekend’s game against Sam Bradford (!) and the Minnesota Vikings due to injury.
More from Inside the Iggles
Defensive tackle Bennie Logan, one of the Eagles’ top players on defense, did not participate in practice Thursday. Logan suffered a significant groin strain against Washington and will not play against the Vikings Sunday, leaving a glaring hole in the middle of the Eagles front seven.
Cornerback Ron Brooks was a limited participant in practice Thursday after suffering a calf contusion against the Redskins. The Eagles are dangerously thin at corner and Brooks missing any time could be a large blow for Philadelphia.
Mychal Kendricks, who has been hugely disappointing in the early going of the season, was held out of practice Wednesday with a rib contusion. However, he should be able to play against Minnesota.
It would be less than ideal if the Eagles were without Ron Brooks and Bennie Logan this weekend. The Eagles have lost two straight and are falling behind in the NFC East race. Needless to say, they’ll need their best players if they want to maximize their chances of beating the undefeated Vikings Sunday.
It seems the Eagles’ early bye week is beginning to haunt them already.
