Petty, Hackenberg - no Geno - in Jets' preseason finale

NEW YORK (AP) Jets coach Todd Bowles says both Bryce Petty and rookie Christian Hackenberg will ''probably'' play and backup Geno Smith will sit out New York's preseason finale at Philadelphia on Thursday night.
Bowles had said on Monday that he wasn't sure if Smith would also play, but ultimately decided he wanted to see more of the inexperienced quarterbacks in game action. Smith, a former starter for the Jets, is expected to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick for the second straight season.
The coach has not yet determined if both Petty, a fourth-rounder in his second season, and Hackenberg, a second-rounder this year, will each play a half.
The Jets have entertained the idea of going into the regular season with four quarterbacks on their roster. Bowles says that is still a possibility.
