Pats to work out Houshmandzadeh

The New England Patriots will host veteran wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh for a free-agent workout Monday as the team looks to build its roster, the Boston Herald reported, citing a source.

Should a move eventuate, it would see the 33-year-old team up again with his long-time teammate at the Cincinnati Bengals, Chad Ochocinco.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Houshmandzadeh played 16 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season but had just 30 receptions for 398 yards — his lowest numbers since his rookie season with the Bengals in 2001, with the exception of an injury-shortened 2003 season.

Houshmandzadeh has a career-total 616 receptions for 7,091 yards and 43 touchdowns, including two 1,000-yard seasons.
