Patriots WR Danny Amendola ruled out with knee injury

Published Dec. 20, 2015 3:38 p.m. ET

The New England Patriots are patiently awaiting the return of Julian Edelman, but they suffered another injury at wide receiver Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Danny Amendola exited in the first half with a knee injury and didn't emerge from the locker room with the team for the second half. He has since been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Amendola came up limping and continued to walk gingerly on the sideline before going into the locker room. He never returned to the field after undergoing further evaluation, which isn't a good sign.

He finished the game with one catch for three yards and also fumbled a punt return in the first half. Keshawn Martin saw more playing time after Amendola exited, both as a return man and at wide receiver.
