Patriots get more Pro Bowlers than rest of the AFC East ... combined

The NFL revealed the Pro Bowl selections for this season on Tuesday night, with the Carolina Panthers leading the way by sending 10 players to the game. The New England Patriots were tied for second with seven, but it's clear they're the overly dominant team in the AFC East.

Tom Brady led the way with his 11th career selection, joining first-time Pro Bowlers Malcolm Butler, Jamie Collins and Chandler Jones. Rob Gronkowski, Stephen Gostkowski and Matthew Slater round out the group, as well.

Incredibly, the Patriots had more Pro Bowlers than the rest of the AFC East had, combined. The New York Jets had three selected (Darrelle Revis, Muhammad Wilkerson and Brandon Marshall), while the Miami Dolphins (Mike Pouncey) and Buffalo Bills (LeSean McCoy) had just one each.

That gives the three teams not named the Patriots five Pro Bowlers, which echoes the fact that New England has run away with the division for some time.

The Dolphins, however, likely should have had another selection in safety Reshad Jones. He's having an outstanding season and is likely more deserving than the likes of Kam Chancellor. He's showed a great deal of versatility, racking up 124 tackles, two sacks, five interceptions and two pick-sixes.

No other safety can say they've posted those numbers, which is why Jones was undoubtedly deserving of a spot in Hawaii.
