Patriots C Bryan Stork misses practice, status for opener in doubt

Published Sep. 8, 2015 1:46 p.m. ET

New England Patriots starting center Bryan Stork missed his third consecutive practice on Tuesday due to a concussion, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. He missed all four preseason games but was able to practice on Saturday before sitting out the last three days.

Given the fact that he's missed three straight practices, Stork's status for the season opener on Thursday is doubtful. Without preseason action and missing practices leading up to the game, Stork likely won't be ready to start on Thursday.

Stork missed the first three regular season games last season as a rookie before he joined the starters and played well, securing his spot for this season, as well. If Stork does indeed miss the season opener, backup Ryan Wendell would likely step in for him as the starting center.
