Panthers treading lightly with Benjamin's hamstring injury

Kelvin Benjamin has spent all of OTAs to this point on the sidelines watching his teammates work, but it's largely due to precautionary reasons. When asked about his situation, Bryan Strickland of Panthers.com had the story.

"I'm getting a lot of mental reps right now," said Benjamin, who missed the first week of OTAs with a strained hamstring. "Right now, it's about getting healthy and getting back on the field.

"It's up to the trainers. Right now they're just taking their time with it."

Obviously Benjamin is looking to get out there with his teammates as quickly as possible, but even head coach Ron Rivera explained that the team has chosen to go the cautious route with the second-year receiver.

"Kelvin tweaked it a couple of weeks ago. Coming out of a break, he slipped a little bit on the wet turf and strained it," head coach Ron Rivera told Panthers.com. "We're being a little bit cautious, but the unintended consequence that's been a plus has been getting Devin snaps."

We all want to see Benjamin back in action as soon as possible, so here's to hoping he's back at 100 percent sooner than later.
