Panthers sign 6-year-old cancer patient to coach team for a day

The Carolina Panthers have a new coach on their staff. His name? Braylon Beam. His resume isn't quite that of head coach Ron Rivera, but he's ready to come in and help make a difference.

Beam is only six and has been battling a brain tumor since back in February. The young Panthers fan has now officially been signed to a 1-day deal that will allow him to fulfill a dream of coaching the team, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina.

The news was broken by David Newton of ESPN and it's simply great to see Beam get a chance to live out his dream.

As Newton explains, Beam will jump in as coach in the August 7 Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium. The whole thing began when the young fan appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he told her about his goal to one day coach the team.

His dream is now becoming a reality.

Beam's father came up with the idea to dance through chemotherapy, which has now become a movement that is helping to raise money for pediatric cancer, according to Newton. The #JustKeepDancing is what kicked off the campaign, and general manager Dave Gettleman even made it a part of Beam's 1-day contract. In order for the young boy to coach up the Panthers, he had to show the team his dance moves.

Best of luck to Braylon Beam and we're all excited to see you lead the Panthers in just a few months.
