Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart inactive against Bucs

Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart and Tampa Bay receiver Arrelious Benn are inactive after being sidelined for part of training camp by injuries.

Stewart has not practiced since spraining his right ankle during Carolina's third preseason game against the New York Jets. Benn hurt his right knee on the first day of training camp and did not return to practice with the Bucs until last week.

Carolina's other inactives on Sunday were quarterback Jimmy Clausen, safety D.J. Campbell, guard/center Jeff Byers, tackle Bruce Campbell, defensive tackle Sione Fua and defensive end Thomas Keiser.

Cornerbacks Myron Lewis, Anthony Gaitor and E.J. Biggers, linebacker Najee Goode, tackle Jamon Meredith and defensive end Wallace Gilberry are inactive for Tampa Bay.
